  • Discover Poste Lafayette region

Poste Lafayette is located between the villages of Poste-de-Flacq and Roches Noires, in the district of Flacq on the east coast of Mauritius. Here, nature still preserves all its rights, making many people say that this village symbolises the wild east. With the exception of a few kilometres of beautiful white beach, Poste Lafayette is a beach with a rustic landscape of vast plains of black volcanic rocks - which gives it its special charm.

To admire this charming landscape, turn left on the beach in front of Koki Bonheur and walk to the public beach; it takes about twenty minutes to reach the rocky point.

For hikers, this corner of the island is a good starting point for a full day hike. Bras d'Eau National Park was proclaimed the second terrestrial national park of Mauritius on October 25, 2011. It is an ideal place to recharge your batteries to the sound of birdsong with a total area of 497.2 ha.

There is a large and flourishing population of mangroves, native plant species and also home to a few species of migratory birds. If you are lucky, you may be welcomed by the sweet song of the coqs des bois (endemic birds of Mauritius).

The starting point of the hike is near the visitor centre in Bras d'Eau. The Department of Bois et Forêts of the Ministry of Agro-industry has set up a parking area and tables for picnickers.

  • Two seasons, the same dream!

Did you know that Mauritius has only two seasons? And yes, being in the southern hemisphere we find a hot summer that runs from November to April and a winter that starts slowly in May, to accentuate over July and August to finally fade in September.

During summer, Poste Lafayette becomes the place par excellence for holidays in the sun. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the beach as you wish, the lagoon and the swimming pools that the villa puts at your disposal.

The water becomes warmer and translucent, perfect for scuba diving. Thanks to the kayaks at your disposal, you can explore the marine life of the east coast freely.

Don't forget your snorkel gear!
