If you are looking for an unusual and unique pied-à-terre in Mauritius, look no further than Villa Cambier. One of the most exclusive villas on the island, it benefits from an exceptional location on the mountainside of Le Morne Brabant.
“We truly felt welcome and enjoyed the huge space in and around the house without mentioning the breathtaking view.” Mario's comments on Airbnb
A feeling of freedom and intimacy invades this amazing place. The breathtaking view of the Morne mountain and the turquoise blue lagoon is spectacular and will satisfy your love of nature. Remember to bring your camera.
Villa Cambier, built in 1969, has a deep family history, which can be felt in the villa made of stone and wood. Wonderfully cosy and warm, the interior is ultra comfortable with its decoration mixing vintage and modern. An idyllic place in the middle of nature, accommodating up to 10 people.
Le Morne Brabant: UNESCO World Heritage Site
Le Morne Brabant is a majestic mountain located in the south-western part of Mauritius. The mountain was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 6 July 2008 to commemorate the legacy of the Maroons (runaway slaves) in Mauritius. During this period of slavery, some slaves took refuge on the mountain of Le Morne, which was considered as a sanctuary.
It is a symbol of freedom and hope!
In addition to the history of Le Morne Brabant, there are many Mauritian segas that honour the period of slavery. Sit back and relax with this Mauritian sega.
The fabulous cultural landscape of Le Morne allows you to spend a great day with your family and friends and it's worth the trip to get there.
The magnificent (and famous) beach of Le Morne is the perfect place for lazy days spent sunbathing, playing on the beach, enjoying the many water sports on the beach or simply enjoying a swim in the turquoise lagoon - there's something for everyone.
On this beach there is a nice cosy restaurant called "Emba Filao", where you can eat in or take away. With its relaxed atmosphere on the public beach, this restaurant offers you a wide choice of dishes: grilled sea bream fillet, smoked marlin salad, chicken panini and much more.
You can also reserve a table and come for dinner on Friday evenings under the stars - a must. Don't forget that the West is famous for its dazzling sunsets!

- A well-known kitesurfing and windsurfing spot:
Mauritius is truly a kitesurfing paradise and one of the top 10 most beautiful kitesurfing and windsurfing destinations in the world.
Surrounded by 75% of turquoise lagoon, kitesurfing is possible all year round in most regions of the island. Especially in winter, winds are stronger and conditions are ideal. As mentioned previously, from May to October the trade winds tend to blow from south to east, between 20 and 25 knots on average.
The spot of One Eye, in Le Morne, is known by professionals and riders looking for thrills, and the wave tubes are found on the famous "left" on the reef.
There's more! A short distance away, a safer spot called the Kite Lagoon, is also accessible for beginners. La Prairie, after the village of Le Morne, is also a perfect spot for kitesurfing.
- How about a round of golf:
From the top of Villa Cambier, a magnificent view of the Paradis Hotel Golf & Club golf course stands before you, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful golf courses in Mauritius. The 18-hole course is 5,924 metres long and stretches between the magnificent Morne mountain and one of the most beautiful lagoons of the Indian Ocean. A great place to have fun all day long!
- Enjoy the Morne lagoon by boat:
Live an unforgettable experience aboard a speed boat to discover the fabulous lagoon of the west coast of Mauritius.
